Plymouth CC's list of the top 5 greatest golf movies

It's getting to that point where it's a little too cold to be hanging outside.

With that in mind, it's time to address one of the most heated debates in the golf industry. The top 5 greatest golf movies of all time. Here is our official opinion.

5. A Gentleman's Game

A classic tale of golf and the valuable life lessons it can teach. Gary Sinise and Mason Gamble star in this story about a caddy being shown the ropes by a former golf professional. 

Definitely worth a watch when you need a break from golf comedies.

4. The Greatest Game Ever Played

Just so happens that this awesome flick takes place just up the road in Brookline, Massachusetts!

Shia LaBeouf stars in this Disney movie about the infamous story of Francis Ouimet and his remarkable performance at the 1913 U.S. Open at The Country Club.

3. Happy Gilmore

Happy learned how to putttttt! 

One of Adam Sandler's best movies from early on. If you haven't seen this one yet, I can still pretty much guarantee you've heard it quoted on the golf course. Especially after your buddy drives the ball past yours...

"somebody's closer".

2. Tin Cup

Is there anything better than a story of a normal guy making it on the PGA TOUR? Kevin Costner stars in this classic about a stubborn, gritty, Teaching Professional who tries his hand against the best golfers in the world.

A must-see rom-com if you love the game of golf.

1. Caddyshack

One of the most quotable movies (of any genre) maybe of all time! Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Ted Knight headline this star-studded cast. For anyone who grew up around, worked at, or currently belongs to a country club , this is a must-watch.
